Looking through old posts, things planned and things left unfulfilled. Do I go backwards and restate it all or do I move forward and let the past be exactly what it is? I say the only way to be successful is learn from the past, not restate or even contemplate over it. But move from it. I think that’s really the only way to go.
I’m sitting here contemplating what 2011 will bring. Or rather what I will do creatively for 2011. I took up the challenge to blog at least once a week in hopes that regular weekly posts will turn into a post a day. But, I’m not holding my breath on that one.
Then my friend, Bucket, posted this Project Life 2011, it’s a kit by Becky Higgins. I think it’s a great little project that will get me back to starting to work on things creatively. I started hunting for ideas and found some great links. A few years ago a guy posted a photo a day of himself and that just turned into some crazy craze. Just about everyone did a 365 project. And there were those who did 52 weeks. So, there are a lot of great ideas out there.
Here are a few of my favorites 🙂
Ali Edwards has a Week in the Life of…. I really like this idea and it’s sounds less stressful than 365. I might actually try and do a week in a life for me kids.
Photo Friday, you can turn this challenge blog into a 52 weeks of photo challenges.
Sunday Scribbles is another challenge blog of creative writing. Or you can use the prompts as journaling for that week.
Doing something creative everyday can be so rewarding and fulfilling. It can also be a great outlet to reduce stress. It’s something that goes in and out of my life. I need to find that balance and keep it there.
I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog
once a day / once a week for now and hopefully get to posting blog once a day all of in 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
For those who know me, well you know I’ve had an couture wedding invitation business for sometime now. I have to admit I didn’t invest much time into it. Customers came from wedding coordinators and I left it at that. But, the past year I’ve been thinking about focusing my energy and getting the business up and running. I decided to take a class being hosted by a few ladies that own indie businesses. The class just started last week. We’ve gone through their stories and now are just beginning to get into the down and dirty of things. This and combined with my brother’s wedding, well it makes me “gaga” for weddings all over again. I’m sketching again, coming up with ideas and I’m just inspired.
I’m excited for 2010 and the outlook ahead.
